Hagia Sophia Audio Guide
Fifteen hundred years of cathedral, mosque, museum and mosque again — Hagia Sophia is the one Istanbul monument where narration changes everything you see. Here is exactly how to get it, without paying for anything twice.
The audio guide is already in the entry ticket
Hagia Sophia requires a paid entry ticket, and the skip-the-ticket-line ticket sold on our dedicated Hagia Sophia site includes a multilingual audio guide — one purchase covers both entry and narration. We don’t sell a separate Hagia Sophia audio guide here, because you’d be buying the narration twice.

Is there a free Hagia Sophia audio guide?
Not an official one. The monument’s on-site signage is minimal, and the official ticket office (muze.gen.tr, Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism) doesn’t publish a free audio tour. Community-made free audio walks exist and cover the building from the outside; they rarely cover the visitor gallery route inside. We compare the free options honestly on our free vs premium page — for Hagia Sophia specifically, the included-with-ticket guide is the best value because the narration costs you nothing extra.
Standing between the two mosques?
The Blue Mosque faces Hagia Sophia across Sultanahmet park, and it’s free to enter — there the narration is the ticket. Our Blue Mosque audio guide (€10.00) pairs naturally with a Hagia Sophia morning: one square, two imperial giants, both stories told.
